I have grown up in the church my whole life. I attended The United Church of Christ in Iowa, went to Methodist College in North Carolina and then moved to Florida where my wife and two boys attend Abundant Life Christian Centre (www.lifenow.tv <http://www.lifenow.tv/> ). My running started in July of 2009 when a co-worker said she was going to do the Naples Half Marathon, and I thought I should do it, more as a bucket list event. I started training, did some 5k's and then the half came and loved the feeling, that I then signed up for a full Marathon in Georgia in March. While at the Marathon, I somehow got a brochure of Christianrunners.org. Since the marathon, the brochure kept popping up on my desk, and I finally realized God was trying to tell me something. Do I consider myself a running expert, no, but do I love God and love to run, yes, so I guess they go hand in hand. I now run 30 to 40 miles a week, depending on injuries, and am scheduled for the next year for marathon's and other races. I hope that the Christianrunners Group in Naples will be a great impact not only on fellow runners, but others in our community. We look to do group runs, train for local races together and start a "running newbies" group during the year.
