What: Gator Run 5k / 10k Simi Valley

Meeting Description: Great Route
The Gator Run will begin at the west entrance to the Rancho Santa Susana Community Park and head east on Los Angeles Ave. to Stearns St. Left turn on Stearns to Cochran, travel west on Cochran to Tapo St. Left on Tapo St. to Industrial, travel east to the end of Industrial where it meets the bike path. Runners will make a short loop on the bike path and head back to Los Angeles Ave., left on L.A. Ave and back to the start/finish. 5K is one loop, two loops for the 10K
Register
Register on-line at Active.com. Registration is $25 for 5K or 10K until May 10th. Late registration is $30 after May 10th. Packet Pick Up will be available on Saturday, May 24th at Foot Pursuit Run Shop, located at 4324 Cochran Street in Simi Valley from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Proceeds
Proceeds from the Gator Run will benefit the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and other local organizations. The mission of the Search Dog Foundation is to produce the most highly trained canine disaster search teams in the nation. The job of these teams is to find people buried alive in the wreckage of natural disasters and terrorist attacks.
To create these teams, SDF recruits rescued dogs from shelters and breed rescue groups, gives them professional training, and partners them with firefighters and other first responders at no cost to their departments. We ensure lifetime care for every dog in our program: once rescued, these dogs will never need to be rescued again

Additional Information
This is a Memorial Day Weekend tradition attracting more than 2000 runners and walkers of all ages. The unique out and back coral tree lined course goes along San Vicente Blvd. It is scenic and flat. New this year...chip timed scoring...Food and drink and ongoing music awaits the finishers. Proceeds benefit the Westside Family YMCA.

The challenging and popular Bulldog runs consist of two races - the 25K Trail Run and the 50K Trail Ultra Run, which are conducted simultaneously. Come join us and run in the beautiful scenic Santa Monica Mountains recreational area beginning at our base camp in Malibu Creek State Park, Malibu California.

The course offers inspirational vistas of untamed terrain and sweeping ocean views. The challenging trail weaves through the mountains on single track and fire roads.
Aid stations are located at approximately every 3-5 miles. We look forward to you joining us for a memorable day in Malibu.
Awards 3-deep in 10-year divisions. First place division winners receive sponsor-donated merchandise. The Bulldog 50k and 25k also benefits a number of charitable and non-profit entities.
Note: The race director reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone, for any reason.
