Hi.My name is Susan Reynolds.I have been running on and off for about 10 years. The Christian Runners Knoxville chapter is definitely an answered prayer. This last year I went from being a grad student on the go (and in the gym) all the time to sitting behind a desk for 8 hours a day.It has been hard to find the motivation to keep up running. It is so much easier to get out there for long runs when someone else is willing to suffer with you.It is such a blessing to be able to combine running and faith and enjoy it with people who have the same focus.
I am definitely not a fast runner. If any of you are familiar with John Bingham (Runner’s World), I, too, am a penguin. My favorite race so far has been the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville, TN., which I ran with Team in Training.
My background is in microbiology (yeah, I’m a geek. J) but eventually would like to be in education.I work at ETSU with the Math and Biology Depts. and I am the Director of Children’s Ministries at Graystone Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.
Every runner needs cross-training days and mine are spent on the back of a horse. It’s amazing what sitting trot or posting without stirrups will do for your legs.
