Welcome to ChristianRunners.org in Huntsville, AL.
Our chapter is officially underway! ChristianRunners – Huntsville is a running group focused on physical and spiritual conditioning and fitness and is designed for runners and walkers of all ability levels who also desire to reach our community for Jesus Christ.
We have group and individual runs each Saturday, leaving from the Whitesburg Baptist Recreation Outreach Center (ROC), located on Whitesburg Drive, south of Airport Rdand east of the parkway. Some members are training for their first 5k while others are training for their next marathon – no matter where you are in this range, we have members doing the same thing! Support and encouragement are facilitated through an e-mail distribution list, allowing members to ask running/fitness questions, share prayer requests, read running-inspired bible studies and receive encouragement for their latest running efforts.We run each Saturday, starting at the ROC, in two groups. The 7:00 AM group is for long runs, usually 6-8 miles, various paces. The 9:00 AM group is for short runs, usually 2-4 miles, and is ideally suited for those just getting into (or back into!) running or walking. Please join us when you have the chance!If you are planning on attending one of our group runs, please visit the “run with us” link and fill out the areas provided so we can estimate how many to plan for. Plus, this will automatically put you in our database for future runs/events.
In the future, we plan to have quarterly fellowship meetings at the ROC to just spend time getting to know each other. These member meetings provide an excellent opportunity for fellowship, bible study, discussion of current member progress and instruction on various running topics.
