You CAN do it!
Have you ever wanted to run a marathon or half marathon but didn't think you could do it?
What do successful marathoners have that you don't?
NOTHING but want to!
Running is putting one foot in front of the other and having the mental toughness to keep going, if want to accomplish something that will last a lifetime NOW is the time to start preparing.
Join Christian Runners as we train for the Cincinnati Half Marathon on October 23rd and the Country Music Marathon/Half Marathon on April 30th in Nashville, Tenn. We will also do some shorter races along the way.
If you're a veteran marathoner, or are just getting started, this is for you. All you need is the determination to train and the desire to succeed.
The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." -John Bingham, running speaker and writer
Finishing a marathon/half marathon proves to yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to, it will change your perspective for ever.

Doreen Barrow
My name is Doreen Barrow, I started running in junior high in 1978 at TalawandaMiddle school at the beginning of the running craze. I ran track and cross country there and continued into high school and college at MiamiUniversity in Oxford. At the time Miami had a cross country club, not a team. Our club was instrumental in the formation of Miami’s Cross Country team. Except for a few breaks, I’ve been running every since. I am a causal runner, and enjoy long slow runs, (with emphasis on slow) local races and an occasional crazy venture like the Xenia Marathon and Mt. Airy’s 50K Stone Steps.
I met my husband while running at Miami, he, however quit running after we got married. He now enjoys riding horses and competing in CMSA events.
We live in Hamilton with our two daughters, Chrissy 17, and Staci 12. Chrissy tried running and still does run some for fitness but doesn’t enjoy it. Staci will start cross country this fall at RossMiddle School.
I was saved in 1987 at Central Baptist Church of Richmond. We are currently members at First Baptist Church of Ross and have been there since 2000. I teach Sunday School and head up the younger youth group, Str8-Up, for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
Because of injuries I have tried to find a more joint friendly sport and have been told by at least three doctors to do so. But, after trying walking, biking, soccer, and softball, I always go back to running and can’t seem to stop. I am inspired by my very active parents and the older runners I see at races. I hope to some day enter the 70 plus age group in a local race.
