Race Rating Report

Zooma Half Marathon/5k...GREAT START! (11/16/2008)

When you think about how much work goes into the launch of a race like the Zooma Race Series it's staggering!  Congratulations to Brae Blackley (race director) and her crew for putting together what surely is a race with tremendous growth potential!  This is our second race rating and we'll mention again that this system is highly subjective and one person's opinion.

Race Information and Ratings (scale of 1-10...1=Bad / 10 = Best Possible)

  1. Course=8 (-2 hilly)
  2. Shirt =10
  3. Expo/Post Race=10 (loved the optional packet pickup at Big Peach)
  4. Coordination=10
  5. Start/Finish Expertise=9 (-1 sharp turn out of the starting gate)
  6. Safety=10 (great job on the streets of Atlanta....felt very safe)
  7. Reason for Race/Fundraising=10 (Care.org...excellent...fighting global poverty with a focus on women)
  8. # of Participants=9 (-1 Great start...sandwiched between 2 other half marathons Zooma pulled a good crowd)
  9. Awards=8 (-2 women's awards only...though this race is focused on women, there most likely will be more men in the future...recommend having men's awards as well)
  10. Overall Experience=10

Score=94 out of 100!  Nice Job!

Big Pumpkin 5k makes te grade! (11/8, 2008)
A huge congratulations to Mike Buckelew and everyone at World Harvest Church in Roswell for putting on an amazing first year race!  Usually, you can find something wrong when a race is launched.  Truly, not the case with this amazing effort!
The Big Pumpkin 5k inspired us to begin a race rating process so that you'll know what events you should plan on attending for the future.  Subjective?  Of course!  However, it's at at least a little bit more information from another angle for you to help make your racing decisions.

Race Information and Ratings (scale of 1-10...1=Bad / 10 = Best Possible)

  1. Course=9
  2. Shirt =10
  3. Expo=10
  4. Coordination=10
  5. Start/Finish Expertise=10
  6. Safety=10
